Information for participants
Please send us an e-mail
(nuccc (a) infa.fi) before 31.3.2000
if your student club want to attend NUCCC'00 and include the names of the
participants and if there are any with special diet needs. We need a contact
person from every student club attending and we would like you to inform us
about your arrival and departure times as soon as you know. You should also
tell us whether you will attend the dinner on Friday night or not.
Remember to bring sleeping bags since the nights will be spent in a school. Add name tags to your bags to find your bags easier after we have transported them to the school.
Maps
The conference will take place in the building called BioCity, which is located
next to DataCity in the Technology Center. A map is available
here.
The
port
is located about 4 km to the south-west of the center of Turku, and the
airport
is about 7 km to the north. The bus number 1 will take you from the airport or the port to the
main square.
The bus number 42* will take you from the main square to the Technology Center. Leaves from outside
McDonalds on the south side of the square. When you see
these buildings you should
get off the bus. The bus route goes from low right to low left over the bridge on the picture. The red
building behind the ugly concrete silo is your target. The entrance is on the Lemminkäinenkatu. That is,
from this side.
Pricing
The price for the weekend is 200 mk without the dinner on Friday night,
300 mk including the dinner.
200 mk (per person) includes:
|
Accomodation @ Kerttulin Koulu |
|
Sitz @ Gadolinia |
|
Breakfast, Saturday |
|
Lunch, Saturday |
|
Brunch, Sunday |
Contrary to popular belief there will be no sauna available during NUCCC. We
apologize for the inconvinience. BUT, for those with extra time to spare on
Friday or Sunday there is a excellent spa hotel called Caribia with resonable
prices not far away. Look
here
for a map.
We will distribute information leaflets to all the participants. This leaflet will contain all the information you need during your stay in Åbo, for example maps and time tables.
The IRC channel #nucc on IrcNet might be inhabitated by people who actually
might know something.
